Clean your analyzers completely and quickly.
If your technicians maintain chemistry, immunoassay and hematology analyzers, Selective Micro offers products that generate, clean and flush completely in 1 hour. No longer will service techs have to wait up to 6 hours for bleach to decontaminate their systems and have results skewed by biomass.
Selective Micro products:
- Decontaminate a system in as little as 1 hour – including the flush out.
- Clean water lines, tanks, loops and even head space surfaces.
- Strip biomass so lines remain clean longer, reducing recontamination.
- Reduce emergency service calls.
Unlike commodity chemicals such as bleach or peroxide, Selective Micro products rinse rapidly, leaving no residue, and are less corrosive to system components because of greater selectivity and efficacy at lower parts per million. Selective Micro has developed products and protocols specific to decontaminate clinical analyzers presently in the field.
Usage Example
Selective Micro Clean products come in the form of self-contained pouches or sachets. Introduce Selective Micro Clean directly into the clinical analyzer reservoir; simply add water to the pouch to generate a specific volume and concentration or add a sachet directly to your volume of water onboard the analyzer holding tank. Circulate at a concentration of 50-100ppm. This is dependent upon the organic debris clogging the lines and reservoir. Cleaning effectiveness is based on solution concentration and contact time. With typical cleaning concentrations of 50ppm and a contact time of 20 minutes, Selective Micro Clean should fully clean an analyzer. Because Selective Micro Clean generates high purity chlorine dioxide, it will rapidly rinse from the clinical analyzer, therefore permitting the ability to be producing results again in less than one hour. Flush Selective Micro Clean from system after appropriate circulation and contact time.
FAQ’s
Chlorine Dioxide use continues to grow due to its anti-microbial properties and neutral Ph. Still there are many questions regarding its use and properties. Here are just a few of the most commonly asked questions and the answers.
What is Selective Micro Clean?
- Selective Micro Clean is a nearly pure (>99%) solution of chlorine dioxide in water. Selective Micro Clean is generated via patented micro-reactor technology, designed to produce a specific amount of chlorine dioxide simply by adding water.
What are the uses for Selective Micro Clean on clinical analyzers?
- Selective Micro Clean is designed for maintenance cleaning and removing organic matter from fluid lines and reservoirs in clinical analyzers.
Why use Selective Micro Clean over alternative treatments?
- Selective Micro Clean is a fast-working, effective, highly compatible and extremely quick-rinsing alternative to other cleaning agents on the market. Chlorine dioxide has more capacity to remove organic matter (due to its inherent chemical characteristics); plus, since it offers much greater selectivity towards key organics, it presents superior material compatibility over other commonly used products, like chlorine. Finally, because Selective Micro Clean is a pure gas in water, it will rapidly rinse from the clinical analyzer (1-2 volumetric flushes).
Has chlorine dioxide been used before?
- Chlorine dioxide has been recognized as an effective cleaning agent for decades. It is used in a wide range of hygiene-related applications worldwide. Municipal water systems have used chlorine dioxide to treat drinking water for over 50 years.
Why couldn’t I use chlorine dioxide before?
- Selective Micro Clean is a patented technology that makes generating pure chlorine dioxide on-site very simple. Until recently, chlorine dioxide could only be produced by complicated, expensive chemical generators or poor quality “stabilized” solutions that present material compatibility hazards. Selective Micro offers a point-of-use (just add water) way to generate ultra-pure chlorine dioxide, without the capital outlay necessary for an on-site chemical generator.
What is the shelf life of Selective Micro Clean?
- In the manufacturer’s original unopened package, Selective Micro Clean has a shelf life of 18 months. Use Selective Micro Clean activated chlorine dioxide within 15 days of generation. Store activated solution in a cool place out of direct sunlight.
Will Selective Micro Clean damage my equipment?
- No. Compatibility testing at 5 ppm and 100 ppm has demonstrated that Selective Micro Clean is compatible with most metals and plastics and should not damage pumps, valves, reservoirs, or water lines.
Is Selective Micro Clean hazardous?
- No. Selective Micro Clean requires no certifications for storage, handling, or use. There is no hazardous waste disposal. Plus, it is okay to pour excess activated solution down a drain.
