The problem

The Problem in Clinical and Diagnostics

Many facilities rely on bleach, quats or peracetic acid for routine disinfection. They work, and they cost you component life, uptime and confidence in the result.

Microbial contamination and biofilm It builds inside fluidic lines, membranes and reservoirs, where routine flushing never reaches it.
Inaccurate or inconsistent results Contamination in the fluid path shows up as drift, repeats and results you cannot stand behind.
Slow decontamination cycles Long or multi-step protocols take instruments offline and hold up the run schedule.
Residue interferes with performance Films and carryover from harsh chemistries sit in the path and affect the next sample through it.
Corrosion shortens component life Bleach and acids are hard on membranes, seals, fittings and the pumps moving fluid past them.
Recontamination repeats the work Surviving biofilm reseeds the system, so the same cycle runs again at the same cost.

How it works

Make Selectrocide On Site in Water

01

Remove the micro-reactor from the pouch

Tear open the foil packaging and take out the sealed micro-reactor.

02

Drop it in a container of water

No mixing, no measuring and no protective equipment required.

03

Seal the container and wait two hours

Chlorine dioxide diffuses out through the membrane and into the water. Reactants and byproducts stay locked inside.

04

Remove the reactor and discard

Take out the spent micro-reactor and reseal the container to hold concentration.

05

Apply at your target concentration

Circulate it through fluidic lines, reservoirs and water systems, or use it on lab surfaces and equipment exteriors.

No generators, no chemical mixing, no complicated equipment.

The Selectrocide solution

The Benefits of Selectrocide®

  • Destroys pathogens and removes biofilm at the source
  • Cleans internal systems without residue or harsh chemistry
  • Rinses quickly, minimizing downtime
  • Extends time between decontamination cycles
  • Neutral pH supports sensitive equipment compatibility
  • Supports consistent, reliable analyzer performance

Where it works

Diagnostic Analyzer Systems

Uses

Fluidic lines, membranes and internal reservoirs.

Benefits

Reduced fouling and biofilm, and consistent analyzer performance.

The wetted path through the instrument. Removes biofilm where flushing alone leaves it, and improves system reliability between service intervals.

Laboratory Environment and Surfaces

Uses

Bench tops, hoods, equipment exteriors and water reservoirs.

Benefits

Reduced contamination risk with no residue on sensitive surfaces.

The working environment around the instruments. Safe for routine use on the materials and finishes found in a lab, and leaves nothing behind to interfere with work on the bench.

USP and Purified Water Systems

Uses

Distribution loops, holding tanks and recirculating systems.

Benefits

Controlled microbial load and less biofilm buildup.

Purified water systems end to end. Controls biofilm inside the loop without corroding or damaging system components, so water quality holds between sanitizations.

RO and Pre-Treatment Systems

Uses

Membranes, pre-filtration and feed water systems.

Benefits

Extended membrane life and less organic fouling.

Everything upstream of the loop. Reduces organic fouling on membranes and improves overall system efficiency, which keeps pre-treatment doing its job for longer.

Safety and compliance

Safety and Compliance

Simple to Use Drop-in pouch system requires no mixing, no protective equipment at use concentrations, and no complex dosing calculations.
Non-Corrosive (Neutral pH) Gentle on surfaces, equipment and skin at use concentrations. Extends the life of lines, pumps, membranes and fittings compared to bleach or acids.
No Harmful Byproducts Does not form chlorinated byproducts like trihalomethanes (THMs) or chloramines the way bleach does.
Leaves No Residue Breaks down cleanly into chloride (salt) and oxygen. No accumulation in water systems, on equipment, or in the environment.
Low Use Concentrations Highly effective at very low ppm levels, which keeps it cost-efficient and safe for use in water systems and around sensitive equipment.
Regulatory Compliance Supported by EPA registration, FDA Food Contact Notifications, OMRI organic listing, and NSF/ANSI 60.
